The outdoor brand The North Face, which belongs to the US clothing group VF Corporation, is looking for a new person to be responsible for its European business.

Jan Van Leeuwen, who has been General Manager The North Face EMEA for the brand’s activities in Europe, Middle East and Africa for the past four years, is moving to the post of General Manager for the Americas, the company said on Friday. The search for a new head of the EMEA business is “already well advanced,” according to a statement. A decision on Van Leeuwen’s successor will be “announced shortly”.

“Jan has been an extremely strong leader for the EMEA team as well as an active member of the regional leadership team and has been instrumental in key account governance and the evolution of the regional platform,” the outdoor outfitter said in a statement. Van Leeuwen’s “passion for the history of The North Face”, his in-depth knowledge of the company’s operational capabilities as well as “his great expertise in marketplace management” would “continue to play a key role in his new role”. The change of position will now be “completed over the next few months,” the company said.
