The Dallas Stars’ practice as a habit turned out to be expensive. The NHL slapped a fine of 100,000 dollars, or about 96,000 euros.
The NHL’s CBA, i.e. the employment contract, specifies that December 24-26. on that day, clubs are not allowed to train or travel.

To the Dallas Morning News, DeBoer described the practice event as a “voluntary exercise,” not a scheduled exercise.
