The NHL club Winnipeg Jets congratulated their trusted forward Nino Niederreiter World Championship silver message service in X.
– We are proud of you, Nino, the Jets social media manager wrote in the update.
Represented the Jets organization for the last seven years Ville Heinola instead, he again went completely unnoticed, even though he won the world championship in Leijon.
Fans were outraged by Jets’ behavior.
– Really? You don’t even mention Ville? Stylish, one fan commented on the Jets’ update.
– The fact that you don’t even mention your gold medalist says a lot about the Jets as an employer.
– Proud of Nino, but come on Ville won gold!
The Jets’ behavior after the final did not come as a surprise in the sense that the club did not consider Heinola’s success in any way earlier in the tournament.
For example, after the semi-final stage, the Jets were glowing that Niederreiter is on his way to gold, but nothing was mentioned about Heinola at that time either.
The Lions’ credit pack scored six points in ten games at the World Cup. In the current season, he played only five games in the Jets shirt and 44 in the AHL club Manitoba.
Heinola’s contract with the Jets ends this season.
