Yle’s journalist-presenter Jasmin Beloued will be seen as the host of the New Music Competition in February together with Sanni.
Next spring’s New Music Competition will be hosted by artist Sanni and Yle’s editor-presenter Jasmin Beloued.
In social media, Sanni was already recognized by the silhouette image, but many different options were speculated as his host pair. Sanni’s host couple was thought to be familiar with the band Portion Boys, among others Tiina Forsbyartist Bess or Sanni’s partner, presenter Shirly Karvinen.
Many people were happy on social media about the approach of the New Music competition and the fact that they already guessed Sanni correctly in advance. However, another presenter raised questions among the viewers. Several admitted that it was a person they did not know before.

Iltalehti readers’ opinions about the new UMK presenters cautiously turned to the satisfied side.
On Tuesday afternoon, when looking at the question, are you satisfied with the UMK presenters, there were 52 percent of satisfied respondents. 48 percent of them, on the other hand, were dissatisfied.
– There would be a high pile of better presenters, but Sanni had to be hired there. I don’t even recognize that other one, so I don’t know if it’s good or bad, but at least I don’t feel like starting to watch because of him, someone told Iltalehte.
– For a change, it would be nice to watch UMK piloted by a real, natural and eloquent presenter. This is a show that no fake show host will bring more viewers to. I want smoothness, not sympathy, which takes the joy out of watching music performances.
Some wanted long-standing public figures as presenters, while others wanted UMK presenters from previous years.
– I think they should have chosen solid old professionals as presenters, such as Tapani Kansa and Frederik or Arja Havakka and Paula Koivuniemi.
– Benjamin, who was the Umk presenter, was absolutely brilliant, he could have continued even more and it would have given him experience in hosting duties!
– Pilvi Hämäläinen would have been enough alone or why not with Jaana Pelkonen.
– First of all, Sanni is not a big singing star and I don’t even know the other one from before, so it’s quite a strange couple. I would have hoped for a fun and upbeat duo instead of these two.
– Sanni’s youthful and rebellious nature will probably bring the expected unexpectedness to the event, where there are no remnants of the fake cheerfulness of presenters that burdened Finnish television for years or the rigidity forced by anxiety. UMK’s progressive renewal last year gives Sanni an excellent stage to conduct experimental reflections on the presenter’s tone. The other presenter is then completely unknown.
Who is Jasmin Beloued?
For the youngest UMK viewers, Beloued, who co-stars with Sanni, is probably a more familiar face. At the age of 17, he started hosting Yle’s program aimed at primary school children Galaxyprogram in 2017. Today, he works at Yle’s children’s news service Yle Mix, where Beloued has been since 2020.
Since 2021, Beloued has also worked on what is usually the most watched TV show of the year: Castle Party. He has published pictures from behind the scenes of the Independence Day reception on his Instagram account.

Beloued from Pirkanmaa will take the UMK stage in front of his home audience. He graduated in 2019 from Tampere co-educational high school, which is a special high school for expressive skills.
– There is a slightly bigger audience than there is when making those social media videos, for example. Fortunately, I have here such an arena-level conker who is used to entertaining a little more people, Beloued commented Up in the morning referring to his co-host Sanni.
Beloued, who attended high school in Tampere, previously lived in Ylöjärvi in Pirkanmaa. Beloued told the local paper Ylöjärvi News in 2017 that her dream job is to act. His career as an actor began at the age of 12, when he was able to participate in a show performed at Tampere-talo Annie-to the musical.
As a high school student, Beloued dreamed in an interview with a local newspaper that he would get on the big stage and work on something. Now, in the New Music competition, he will be seen in front of an audience of a thousand people.
– Being part of UMK has been a dream for a long time, and I have been able to work around it in the role of a journalist. That’s how I made myself visible to the UMK team and eventually I got a request for auditions and I was able to participate, says Beloued in Yle’s press release.
He confesses to being a fan of Viusu and is very proud of his future host career. He has also been familiar with the music of his host partner Sanni since the beginning of his career.
– I’ve been listening to Sanni’s music since day one, so this is also a very special fan encounter for me, he commented.
