This season is the focus of diversity. The Boho-Chic celebrates its big comeback and was seen by many fashion shows. “Ruffles, ruffles and floral patterns shape this romantic look. Transparent fabrics and pastel tones such as cream and purple underline the playful aesthetics, ”explains style consultant Dunja Hess.
But in addition to this dreamy style, the clear line is also strong. Carl Tillessen from the German Fashion Institute (DMI) speaks of a “new timelessness” that is characterized by minimalist designs, soft drapes and subtle coloring. He emphasizes: “This minimalism differs from previous variants because it looks softer, warmer and more human”.
In spring/summer, extreme silhouettes are striking, ranging from straight cuts to voluminous details such as wide shoulders and wide collars. “There is a lot of scope to experiment with the shape,” says Heß. The interaction of wide and tight elements in the silhouettes creates exciting visual effects and offers the opportunity to play with body shapes.
Which colors and patterns are particularly popular this season?
The color palette of this season is as versatile as the styles itself. Tender pastel tones such as mint, light blue, lilac and pink bring freshness to fashion. “These colors go perfectly with the romance of the boho look,” says color and style consultant Jasmin Link. In addition to these delicate colors you can see strong tones such as tomato red and Burgundy can still be seen everywhere. If you want to put exciting color accents towards the summer, you can do this particularly well with pink, green and orange. They come into their own as highlights in minimalist looks.
There is also a area of tension between tradition and reinterpretation for the patterns. In addition to animal prints such as leopard patterns to brown and white cow spots, polka dots and pinstripes experience a revival. “Nadel strips are now increasingly being worn by women,” said Tillessen.

The women’s fashion relies on flowing and light fabrics that combine movement and elegance. Materials such as viscose, modal and satin ensure an airy, light comfort. An important topic remains also transparent. “Transparent substances, which are often placed on top of each other in several layers, create subtle effects and, above all, bring out pastel colors particularly well,” explains Carl Tillessen. And what about jeans? They remain a permanent favorite in all explanations. With handbags you can currently see a lot of suede, which fits well with the boho-chic.
What cuts and silhouettes are the order of the day for dresses and skirts?
Clothes and skirts are mostly fluid and figurative this season. While the maxi skirts of the boho style are still present, voluminous silhouettes with wide puff sleeves or wide collars will also be seen. The trend towards extreme silhouettes, in which large parts are combined with closer ones, plays an important role in both skirts and pants and tops, according to style consultant Heß.
What trends do we see with pants and tops?
Palazzo pants, marl pants and wide-leg jeans were seen on all catwalks. These cuts are not only comfortable, but also seem particularly elegant due to the flowing materials. In order to make the pants more versally, many designers combine original details such as fringes or asymmetrical forms, according to Jasmin Link.
With the tops, the look is often classic “feminine”. Transparent fabrics, refined drapes and lace give the look and elegance. “Feminine blouses with floral prints complement the Boho Chic,” says Dunja Heß.
What about shoes and accessories is an absolute must-have?
According to Claudia Schulz from the German Schuh Institute, shoes such as Mary Jans, retro sneaker made of suede and ballerinas with rivets or rhinestones are particularly trendy at the foot and on the street. Another highlight is filigree sandals with jewelry details that fit perfectly with the airy summer outfits.
According to Dunja Hess, the colors and patterns in shoes and accessories are based on the general color trends of the season. There is still a lot of animal printing, especially for bags and shoes, as well as pastel tones and strong accents that are used as highlights for accessories.
Charms, i.e. striking pendants for the handbag, are particularly popular this season. Playful accents can be set with small bears, according to Schulz. Grinding, towels in all variants and pearls are also one of the trendy accessories.
According to Claudia Schulz, baseball caps. They give every look a relaxed touch and ensure a cool twist, especially in combination with a ruffled blouse and ballerinas.
