‘Played a ball for the first time on Wednesday’
ROSES – Almost ten months after her last match ever during the Olympic Games in Tokyo, the so-called Tribute Trophy in Rosmalen was supposed to be the festive farewell to Kiki Bertens, but things turned out differently. Due to the persistent rain, Team Kim Clijsters (flanked by Sjeng Schalken) and Team Kiki Bertens (flanked by Richard Krajicek and Elise Mertens) were unable to show their skills. Bertens was kind enough to tell us about her life after years of hard top sport.
