The Netherlands will start border checks on Monday: “Will be carried out on a random basis”

The Netherlands will start border controls from next week. Dutch Asylum Minister Marjolein Faber is convinced that these checks will “stop people who have no right to come here”. She dismisses concerns about, among other things, the limited capacity of the military police, which can therefore only check a fraction of Dutch border crossings. “Of course we have to start somewhere,” Faber said on Friday before the start of the cabinet meeting.
