The Netherlands pays ‘Vaandeldrager’ via trust on an island in the Pacific

The purchase price of 175 million euros for Rembrandt’s standard-bearer must be paid to a trust on an island in the Pacific. The painting’s owners, a branch of the French banking family De Rothschild, presumably created the trust to gain tax benefits.
