Hélène Hendriks states that Rachel Hazes is in the top three of the biggest annoyances in the Netherlands. She presented it to her PR man Guido den Aantrekker on New Year’s Eve. “Don’t do that!”
The men of Today Inside are on holiday, so Hélène Hendriks provided the big New Year’s Eve show on SBS 6 last night. She started the broadcast with a real poll. “We asked the whole of the Netherlands: what irritates you? Well, a list has emerged and it also includes: Rachel Hazes forbids son to use father’s name.”
Rachel irritations
Hélène then sits down next to her first two guests: Dyantha Brooks and Guido den Aantrekker, Rachel’s PR man. “Rachel Hazes is among them. People have been annoyed by it. Of course you don’t understand that,” the hostess says teasingly to Guido.
He then said: “I wouldn’t do that, but apparently people do that anyway.”
Rachel is in the top three with 24 percent of the votes, after the climate demonstrators (36 percent) and Frans Timmermans (26 percent).
“Your bestie!”
Dyantha immediately clarifies for the viewer that Guido is extremely pro-Rachel. “It’s your bestie, right?”
Guido: “Well, that is said, but anyway, I just stick to the facts that I know because I know her well, than many others.”
Hélène: “What facts do we not know that make us all think…”
Documents
André has been performing for years and years without ‘junior’ after his name, but now, according to Guido, there is suddenly an ancient document in which he has promised not to do that: “Well, for example, it says here: Rachel Hazes forbids her son to to use father’s name.”
“There are documents showing that André Hazes Jr., and that is actually how it is stated, has committed and committed himself to using that name in commercial activities. If he suddenly stops doing that, you will have a financial or business conflict, just like you have with other families.”
Blocker
Such a family conflict is really very normal, according to Guido. “For example, the Blokker family has a similar case or Han Peekel with his two daughters who also fight each other in court. I also think the advantage of a business conflict is that it is a little easier to resolve than a family conflict.”
Dyantha doesn’t think so. “You can also just look at it as a mother and think: well, my son is so busy with his own name André Hazes, I’m just not going to whine about it. Isn’t it really justifiable?”
Guido: “You’re absolutely right about that.”
Will it be okay?
Hélène wonders — very tritely — whether things will still work out between the Hazesjes. “Will things still be okay in 2025? Because that is the most important thing.”
Guido: “I think it will work out, but not in 2025. That would be a bit too simplistic, but I still believe – I have known them for 25 years – that it will still happen. Ultimately, there is a lot of mutual love beneath the surface, but it takes a lot.”
