A referendum on the euro was held in Denmark some time ago, and the result was ‘no’. In the Netherlands there was a pitying response to this, but my old buddy Paul Bordewijk (former finance minister of Leiden for the PvdA) and I wrote an article in 1992 in the journal of the scientific office of the PvdA ‘Long live the Danish Nee’ (still on find it on the internet).
