Netflix Blown Away: Glassblowers’ competition John Moran, who won the third production season of the series, will arrive in Finland in February.
Moran has received a place at the Nuutajärvi Lasikomppania artist residency. The glass company, or officially called Nuutajärvi lasitaijat ry, maintains the work spaces necessary for glass manufacturing.
The association says on their websitethat two glass carvers were selected from the record number of applicants, one of whom was Moran. Another of the selected glass artists is Katherine Huskie.
The residency is organized from 7 to 16. February. Kyösti Kakkonen, known as a collector and businessman, is behind the financing.
Moran’s work can be observed at an open event on February 7.
American-Belgian Moran starred Blown Away -series’ third season in 2022. In the Canadian reality TV series, a group of glassblowers compete against each other in various tasks. As the competition progresses, the crowd thins out and eventually only one grabs the jackpot. There have been four seasons of the Netflix series.
