The municipality of Noordenveld would like to extend the reception location for Ukrainian refugees at Natuurcamping Molenduin in Norg. The possibility of an expansion with five chalets is also being investigated.

The current permit runs until February 2026. The municipality hopes to extend this until March 4, 2027.

There are now 15 chalets at the reception location in Norg. If five more chalets are added, 20 more Ukrainians can be added. “There are currently 60 people living at this location,” says a spokesperson for the municipality of Noordenveld.

The municipality of Noordenveld currently accommodates 178 Ukrainians. The municipality’s goal is to accommodate 500 Ukrainians. “We have agreed with a number of municipalities in Drenthe how many Ukrainians each municipality will receive, so that it is well distributed. We would like to comply with that.”

With the five additional chalets, the municipality can accommodate 198 Ukrainians. “Additional shelter places are also being looked at in the rest of the municipality,” the spokesperson said.
