Three big surprises in Bayern’s starting eleven

On the final league matchday of the Champions League, there is a lot at stake for FC Bayern in terms of sport. Kompany relies on a special starting eleven.
Head coach Vincent Kompany is relying on a surprising starting lineup. Neither Captain Manuel Neuer nor Harry Kane are listed there. Replacement goalkeeper Jonas Urbig is once again moving into the starting line-up for Neuer. Nicolas Jackson replaces Kane in the center of attack. And there is another big surprise: Jamal Musiala is allowed to start for the first time since breaking his shin bone in the summer. He replaces the in-form Michael Olise in the team.
By finishing second behind the still unbeaten FC Arsenal, FC Bayern would play the second leg of all knockout rounds at home in front of their own fans. In addition, Munich could only meet Arsenal, who have not given up a single point in the entire competition and won all of their games, in the final at the earliest. Bayern are already safely qualified for the round of 16 in March. Only in London in the duel with FC Arsenal (1:3) did the Munich team have to admit defeat in the league phase.
“We will let out the anger that is in us in the next game,” announced national player Jonathan Tah for the final test of the league phase in Europe’s premier class. A point in Wednesday’s away game at PSV Eindhoven is enough to secure the important second place in the table.
