Patricia would like Claudia to be able to move around in public in complete peace without prying eyes. Over
Patricia’s46, Claudia-daughter, 15, does not want or seek attention from men significantly older than her, but she is still exposed to it. Patricia has noticed it practically numerous times, as she tells Yle From mother to daughter in the series.
– I find it really uncomfortable to walk with him, because people over 35 – i.e. significantly older than him – look at him, Patricia says in the program hosted by Eva Kela.
– It’s not right for older men to look at a 15-year-old, he adds.
When Patricia herself was young, she unwittingly heard about her large breasts.
– For boys, big breasts were a good thing, but I didn’t like it. They got me attention I didn’t want.
Now her teenage daughter is getting unwanted attention. Time is just different. Social media has made harassment even more brazen.
Claudia herself does not notice the stares of older men as often as Patricia.
– Mother says that older men look at me, but I don’t notice it very often. Or if I notice, I won’t look at them any longer, Claudia says on TV.
