The meat and cabbage pie will blow your mind

Dark autumn evenings invite you to feast on warming and comforting cabbage dishes. If you’ve already made the box and soup a couple of times, try the wonderful meat and cabbage pie next.

In the recipe from the Kotikokki recipe service, the pie is made on a butter dough base and decorated with a pastry grid. The pie is flavored by, among other things, onion and paprika powder.

Meat and cabbage pie

500 g butter dough (frozen)

approx. 300 g of cabbage

1 onion

300 g minced meat

1 tablespoon of butter

salt

black pepper

1 tsp paprika powder

2 cream cheese frostings

1 bouillon cube

1 egg

1. Cut the cabbage into strips and cook the strips until soft in the meat broth.

2. Brown the minced meat and chopped onion in a pan. Season the minced meat mixture with salt, pepper and paprika powder.

3. Pour off the cooking water and then add the cabbage strips to the pan.

4. Mix in the whipped cream.

5. Roll the dough into a thin sheet on a baking sheet on baking paper. Cut off a small part of the dough and shape the edges of the dough according to the edges of the baking sheet.

6. Add the filling on top.

7. Cut the remaining dough into strips and make a grid on top of the pie.

8. Grease the lattice with egg.

9. Bake at 200 degrees for about 35–40 minutes.
