Residents of Bladel who play in the State Lottery immediately checked their ticket on New Year’s Eve. This after the lottery announced that the winner of 15 million euros comes from the municipality of Bladel. “Unfortunately, it wasn’t me,” says a participant who won five euros. “But I’m also happy with that.”
Like other residents whom the Omroep Brabant reporter spoke to on Wednesday afternoon, she does not know who the lucky winner is. “I haven’t even heard any rumors. But if I had won the grand prize myself, I would tell you. And you would notice because from now on I would have someone else get my groceries,” she laughs as she pushes her shopping cart.

Another woman says she would keep her mouth shut about it. “I would pay off my mortgage: the money ensures that more is allowed and less is required.”
“It will probably be in Hapert, Casteren or Hoogeloon.”
A man walking through the center suspects that the prize did not fall in the village of Bladel itself. But in one of the other cores. “It will probably be in Hapert, Casteren or Hoogeloon,” he thinks.
“What would I do with the money? I would buy that house,” a woman points to a house that is for sale further away. She also doesn’t know who won. “That will become known through the fanfare.”
