Around a year and a half after her debut Prelude to Ecstasy, The Last Dinner Party will publish her second album in October. Reason enough to bring the new songs live and in front of an audience. The British band will be shown three times in Germany in spring.

In 2021, the group around Abigail Morris, Lizzie Mayland, Emily Roberts, Georgia Davies and Aurora Nishevci was founded. Just two years later, her single “Nothing Matters” ended up in the UK charts, their subsequent LP Prelude to Ecstasy was the best-selling debut album since the Communion of Years & Years in Great Britain.
Her second album from the Pyre will be released on October 17th. It represents a collection of stories that are connected by the myth of the prairie. It says in an official statement by the band: “Ghosting becomes a western dance with a murderer, and heartache laughs the apocalypse in the face.” While Prelude to Ecstasy is uncomfortable, such as structural inequality and female rage, symbolically negotiated at the opulent table, her new album should be a little rougher – or, as the band itself describes it itself, “metatextual and cheeky”.
The Last Dinner Party connects indie rock, glam rock and baroque elements into a sound that is characterized by almost orchestral singing and theatrical energy. Their appearances are as pompous as their appearance, and their texts combine Popfeminism with a smugly, self -righteous anger. Somewhere between Ethel Cain and David Bowie they create musical spaces beyond traditional pop or rock stereotypes. The Last Dinner party is very well received, especially in the young, but above all in the queer scene.
