– Yes, it will be put on the shelf completely for the time being and we will think about it again. This sad news is so recent that we haven’t had time to think about the commercial side of this matter.

According to Selin, he has had enough time to discuss the matter with the actors that the project is being postponed to the future. Selin does not comment on whether Silvennoinen would have wanted the film to be made.
– I can’t think about it like that, he commented.
Selin says that she can’t even think about whether it will hurt to put the film on the shelf.
– It’s just a movie. Now we are talking about a really great person, he reminds.
Iltalehti caught up with Timo Kahilainen, who confirms Selini’s words about the film being shelved. Kahilainen emphasizes that at this stage no one can say with certainty what will happen to the film. However, Kahilainen is of the opinion that the film will not be made.
– After all, it’s completely clear that it won’t happen at this point. So yes, it won’t be done now. If we lack the movie Elmeri Hautamäki, how could we do it? Kahilainen states.
– At this point, it felt good to tell about it [projektista]when we did it together with Hessu. Maybe in that TV broadcast I just wanted to tell about Hessus and how he wanted to continue despite his illnesses, he says.

According to Kahilainen, the financing of the project was being clarified and the script was already ready. Kahilainen believes that Silvennoinen would have wanted the film to be made.

Silvennoinen died at the age of 70 on December 18. Kahilainen told Yle live that Silvennoinen had called everyone and proposed Gold rush 2 -making a film. Kammeli Gold Rush – film was awarded, among other things, at the Jussi gala as the audience’s favorite film in 1998.
