The Kosovar center forward Vedat Muriqi became Mallorca’s third reinforcement in the winter market on Monday, after the Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico and the Uruguayan defender Giovanni González.

He arrives on loan from Lazio, from the Italian Serie A, and has signed with Mallorca until the end of the season. Muriqi played several seasons in Turkey, where he scored 76 goals in 210 games.

In his last year in Turkish football, just before arriving in Italy, he scored 17 goals in 36 games with Fenerbahçe, according to the Balearic club in a statement.

The striker is an absolute international with his national team, with which he has played 37 games in which he has scored 18 goals. If there is no departure in the next few hours, Muriqi will be the fifth center forward in the squad led by coach Luis García Plaza, after Fer Niño, Abdón Prats, Ángel Rodríguez and Matthew Hope.
