The Kick-off: ‘Alfred Schreuder trainer with a short trip abroad, but good reputation’

In the last episode of De Aftrap of this season, trainers Andries Jonker (Telstar) and Wim Jonk (FC Volendam) react to the appointment of Alfred Schreuder as the new head coach of Ajax. “He knows the club, which is a huge advantage,” Jonk says in the football talk show. Jonker also thinks that the national champion has appointed a suitable successor for Erik ten Hag. “He doesn’t have many years of service as a head coach, but he has a good reputation.”

In addition to Ajax, the table is also about the success of FC Volendam and Telstar’s disappointing season. The Velsenaren finished in the first division in penultimate place. Because Jonker does not expect any sporting improvement in the short term, he has decided to leave.

“At that time we had seven to eight thousand supporters in Volendam”

Before that, the Amsterdammer will have dinner in Volendam with the staff and the entire Telstar player group. This is done at the invitation of Keje Molenaar and is a thank you because Telstar just before the end of the competition from Excelsior won and with that FC Volendam did a great service in the promotion to the Eredivisie. “At that time we had seven to eight thousand supporters in Volendam,” says Jonker with a laugh.
