Judge Fernando Fernández Esteban postpones the testimony of the president Juan Luis ‘Tati’ Rascón and the manager, Juan Bautista Avendaño, because a lawyer could not attend

The head of the Court of Instruction number 43 of Madrid, Fernando Fernández Esteban, who is investigating in the ‘Raquetas case’ on the alleged irregularities within the Madrid Tennis Federation (FTM), has delayed until July 5 the declaration as investigated of the president of the organization Juan Luis ‘Tati’ Rasconand the manager, Juan Bautista Avendanoas reported to El Periódico de España, a newspaper belonging to the same group, Prensa Ibérica, as this newspaper, sources from the Superior Court of Justice of Madrid (TSJM).

The statements were scheduled for this Tuesday, June 7, but the inability of one of the lawyers to attend has convinced the instructor to move the summons to July 5. This is the second time that the magistrate transfers the statement of those investigated, who had already been summoned for the first time on December 14, 2021.

The instructor charged them after receiving his court a complaint filed by the Madrid Provincial Prosecutor’s Office on August 11, 2021 in the Madrid Courts of Plaza de Castilla. In it, the prosecutor María Valencia Fernández pointed out that ‘Tati’ Rascón could have committed the crimes of Unfair administration, embezzlement of public funds or subsidy fraud after self-contracting with a monthly salary of 10,530 euroswhich meant an alleged diversion of funds of at least 568,520 euros.
