Investigators opened a criminal case after the Ukrainian military tried to enter the territory of Russia in infantry fighting vehicles, reported in the press service of the Investigative Committee.

“A criminal case has been initiated on the grounds of a crime under Art. 317 of the Criminal Code (encroachment on the life of military personnel) and part 3 of Art. 322 of the Criminal Code (illegal crossing of the state border of the Russian Federation),” the report says.

According to the investigation, on February 21, representatives of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who arrived from the territory of Ukraine in two infantry fighting vehicles, illegally crossed the state border of Russia near the farm Patronovka, Tarasovsky district, Rostov region.

“This group was stopped by Russian border guards near the Patonovka farm in the Tarasovsky district of the Rostov region and destroyed by return fire during armed resistance,” the department added.
