The government’s digital summit takes place in Jena

BERLIN (Dow Jones)–The 16th Digital Summit of the Federal Government will take place on November 20th and 21st in Jena. More than 1,000 participants from all over Germany come together under the title “Digital transformation at the turn of the century. Sustainable. Resilient. Future-oriented”. digitalization the responsible transport and economics ministries announced. Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD), Economics Minister Robert Habeck (Greens) and Digital Minister Volker Wissing (FDP) as well as other high-ranking representatives of the government, business, science and civil society would discuss Germany’s digital future.

“Climate neutrality, transformation and resilience are the challenges of our time,” explained Habeck. “The digital summit is intended to show how digitization can support us in mastering it and using it as an opportunity for our country.” Wissing explained that digitization is “a key to more sustainability”. With intelligently linked data, traffic could be better planned, resource consumption optimized and existing infrastructures used more efficiently. “That’s why it’s so important that we make as much data as possible freely available and ensure that our country is an attractive location for digital innovations,” he emphasized.
