The Golden Raspberry nominations

Every year, the jury of the “Golden Raspberry” (in English: “Razzie Awards”) chooses Hollywood’s missteps of the past year. From the worst film to the worst actors to the worst direction, the negative equivalent of the Academy Awards is celebrated. The nominations were announced on Monday (January 22), traditionally one day before the Oscars.

“After the strikes, the signs of a global plague and general agoraphobia, the decline of the cinema can no longer be overlooked,” said the organizers when announcing the award contenders. “Luckily, a puppet and a bombshell movie revitalized the industry, which still left a trail of Pooh for the Razzies to pick up on!”

Seven nominations for “The Expendables 4”

The “Price” voters, who pay money to vote, are particularly counting on “The Expendables 4” this year. With seven nominations – including ones for Sylvester Stallone and Megan Fox – there are more nominations than for any other title. The horror films “The Exorcist – Confession” and “Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey” were nominated five times each. Right behind them are two comic adaptations from DC and Marvel. Both for “Shazam! 2 – Fury Of The Gods” and “Ant-Man And The Wasp: Quantumania” have four entries each.

As always, there are numerous prominent names among the Razzie candidates – Jason Statham, Jennifer Lopez, Salma Hayek, Helen Mirren, Russell Crowe, Vin Diesel, Bill Murray and Mel Gibson are among the Razzie Awards nominees.
