Naples is the backdrop for the meeting between two Italian excellence, the Giro d’Italia and the Amerigo Vespucci ship. On the occasion of the sixth stage, which ended in via Caracciolo, the captain of Vascello Giuseppe Lai, commander of the ship, moored at the Maritime Station, hosted Mads Pedersen on board, leader of the general classification and the former champion Vincenzo Nibali. For the ship is the 13th stage of the Mediterranean tour, an initiative born from an idea by the Minister of Defense Guido Corsetto and supported by the defense and by 12 ministries. The aim is to tell and share the international experience of the “world tour” which for 20 months has brought Made in Italy to 30 foreign countries.
