Finlandia performed by Paula Vesala made the Lions sensitive.
Singer Paula Vesala performed her interpretation at the Golden Festival of the Lions Finland– from the anthem.
Vesala’s impressive interpretation instantly silenced the 80,000-strong audience. The party buzz changed to a solemn atmosphere, when eyes turned towards the stage and the performance was listened to almost without a breath.
Vesala, who appeared in a lion shirt, created an impressive atmosphere on stage, while the haze of the smoke machine floated in the air and emphasized the show’s stopping moment. The Leijoni players were visibly moved by Vesala’s performance as well.
After the performance, Mikko Lehtonen gave Vesala the world championship trophy to lift into the air.
However, the fragile atmosphere was broken quickly after the performance, when Boy The boy is taking a sauna – the classic song from the World Cup in 2011 started to freshen up.
