The comedy series “LOL – Last One Laughing”, in which ten comedians are locked in a room and have to make each other laugh, entered its fourth round over the Easter weekend – and managed to match the success of the previous Even surpass relays. According to a report by the PR agency filmcontact, the fourth season of “LOL” is the most-streamed title on Prime Video in Germany and Austria of all time.
Probably also due to the high streaming numbers, Michael Bully Herbig announced the fifth season of the comedy show on Friday (April 28). He said, “High five! And now everyone: Shu shu shu, sha sha sha, the fifth season will be here next year!”. The 54-year-old comedian and director is referring to the appearance of Bastian Pastewka and Anke Engelke as hit stars Mel & Jenny on the show. A clip of the song “Shu Shu Shu” went viral and was viewed more than 14 million times on Prime Video Germany’s social media channels.
In this year’s season of “LOL – Last One Laughing” Cordula Stratmann, Elton, Hazel Brugger, Jan van Weyde, Joko Winterscheidt, Kurt Krömer, Martina Hill, Max Giermann, Michael Mittermeier and Moritz Bleibtreu compete against each other. The rules are the same as in previous seasons: whoever laughs once gets a warning, the second time the person is kicked out. The winner receives prize money of 50,000 euros, which is donated to a good cause.
