The Flemish Government wants 56,000 extra social housing: municipalities that do not build enough are gaining sanction

In the fight against the long waiting lists for social housing, the Flemish government wants to build 56,000 extra social housing by 2042. Municipalities who refuse to do their part will be financially punished. According to Minister of Housing Melissa Depraetere (Vooruit), an extra effort is also requested from the tenant himself.
