The Italian brand Trussardi got a fresh update. In addition to a modern corporate identity with a new logo, a new design approach was also presented on Saturday. Serhat Işık and Benjamin Huseby, the founders of Berlin-based label GmbH, presented their first collection for Trussardi during Milan Fashion Week. For the traditional brand that stands for Italian lifestyle, they brought a bit of Berlin style to the classic fashion city.

With the exception of a few color accents, the Fall/Winter 22 collection was mostly black. Here and there a bit of yellow and purple, a bit of white and gray could be seen, but otherwise it remained colorless and gloomy – as if made for Berlin’s techno-influenced nightlife.

Leather also plays a major role in this, which is fittingly also important in Italy. An oversized leather jacket and floor-length coats à la Matrix meet a tight strapless dress that, with its long sleeves and decorative seams, is reminiscent of a reinterpretation of a medieval piece.

Decorative seams and quilting ran through large parts of the collection, which were used for jackets and dresses. Fur was also used for collars and atypical areas such as the shoulders.

Despite references to the Middle Ages – through cuts, silhouettes and accessories such as bracelets, for which the label’s new circular greyhound logo was ideal – and a modern design language that the duo have given the label, the collection is significantly more reserved and street-ready as the design of their own label. As a result, the designers have struck a fine balance between their style and the classic brand.
