In the Formula 1 World Championship, the 2022 season will start with the Bahrain Grand Prix.
The qualifying laps of the race, which will be held on the 5.4-kilometer Bahrain International Circuit in the Sakhir Desert in the Northern Governorate, will start tomorrow at 18.00. The 57-lap race will be held on Sunday, March 20, at the same time.
The new season of F1, the world’s most watched auto sports organization, will consist of 22 legs after Russia’s departure. The season will wrap up with the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix on November 20, if there is no change due to the epidemic or any other reason.
Last year, in the breathtaking final race, Red Bull’s Dutch driver Max Verstappen attacked Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton on the last lap, passing the checkered flag in first place and winning the first championship of his career.
In the constructors’ classification, Mercedes had improved its own record with the 8th championship.
THE MOST SUCCESSFUL PILOT HAMILTON IN BAHRAIN
The pilot with the most race wins in Bahrain, which is preparing to host Formula 1 for the 18th time, was Great Britain’s Lewis Hamilton. The 37-year-old “sir” driver climbed to the top of the podium with Mercedes in 2014, 2015, 2019, 2020 and 2021. In terms of brands, Mercedes and Ferrari left their rivals behind with six wins each in Bahrain.

In the Bahrain Grand Prix, Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton and Alpine’s Fernando Alonso will take their places on the grid as drivers who win races at this track.
In Bahrain, where 19 drivers have fought before, Alfa Romeo’s Chinese driver Zhou Guanyu will be a part of Formula 1 excitement for the first time.
Aston Martin’s German driver Sebastian Vettel also reached the top of the podium 4 times in Bahrain, but will miss the first race of the season due to the corona virus.
