Finnish striker Eetu Liukas, 20, signed an NHL contract with the New York Islanders. The rookie contract is for three years.

Liukas played in the finished league season in HPK and scored 14+9 in 58 regular season matches. 104 penalty minutes were accumulated, which entitles the entire SM league to the number one spot in the ice room statistics.

In Leijon, Liukas played seven A national matches with 1+1.

The attacker was with TPS in the league finals in the spring of 2022. He played in the under-20 World Cup silver team in the same season.

The Islanders booked the Finnish forward in the fifth round in 2021.
