Vaakainen will move to the New York Rangers in connection with the trade. Rangers captain Jacob Trouba is moving to the Ducks.
The Ducks will take over Trouba’s entire contract. In addition, the Ducks will give the Rangers a fourth-round pick in the summer 2025 draft. The average annual salary of a defender is eight million dollars.
