The Finnish flag flies in The Simpsons – A funny reference to Finland in the new episode

In the new season of The Simpsons, the Kevät kenttä nuclear power plant will be presented.

In the recent episode of the 35th production season of The Simpsons, numerous references to Finland are seen. Episode 11 is called Frinkenstein’s Monster, which introduces the Kevät kenttä nuclear power plant located in Shelbyville. The blue and white flag of Finland flies on the roof of the nuclear power plant.

Voimala is managed by a figure named Onni Korhonen. In the episode shown on the Fox channel in the United States on February 18, references are also heard to saunas and Finnish guts.

The Simpsons series has seen several mentions of Finland before. One of the reasons for this is that Bonita Pietila, who has a Finnish background, is making the series. Pietila’s grandparents once moved to the United States from Ostrobothnia.

In Finland, the Simpsons series is presented by Disney+, which started showing episodes of the 34th season of the favorite series at the end of 2023.
