Seattle Kraken has been raised by a Finnish defender Ville Ottavainen23, back to the strength of the NHL team from the farm club Coachella Valley Firebirds, the club announced on Sunday on its X account.

Ottavainen, originally from Oulu, who is listed as 196 centimeters and 98 kilograms, has started his season in the AHL. In the Firebirds shirt, he has played two matches without power points and with a plus-minus statistic of -2.

The defender is most likely the reason behind the big lift by Ryan Lindgren injury.

Lindgren got a puck in his face in Saturday’s 4-3 overtime win against Toronto and had to leave the game. Seattle invited Ottavainen from the AHL as a possible replacement for the Philadelphia match between Monday and Tuesday night.

The NHL call-up is not the first for Ottava. Last season, he was able to make his NHL debut in the ranks of the Seattle Kraken, played one regular season game and recorded one assist.

Last season, the defender played a total of 68 matches in the AHL, where he had 3+12=15 power points and a plus-minus balance of +7.

Ottavainen has represented JYP in the SM league.
