The Finnish Boxing Association expressed a strong objection to the IBA’s position

The Finnish Boxing Association sticks to the old guidelines regarding the participation of Russians.

The Finnish Boxing Federation said it would stick to its old policy regarding the participation of Russian and Belarusian boxers in the Finnish Games.

The issue was decided at an extraordinary meeting of the federal government, when the International Boxing Association IBA announced earlier on Wednesday that athletes from countries participating in the war of aggression can now participate in international events with their national emblems and national anthems.

IBA is chaired by Vladimir Putin a Russian known as a friend Umar Kremlinov.

The Finnish federation still does not allow Russian or Belarusian boxers or officials to its own events in its home country. International events are also boycotted if Russians participate in them.

– Finnish boxers will not participate in international competition events where Russian and Belarusian athletes are allowed to represent their country. Regarding the Women’s European Championships, the decision on participation will be made after the information about the countries participating in the Games is public, the association said in its press release.

The Women’s Boxing European Championships will be held in Montenegro from 11 October to 23 October.

With the IBA’s decision, Russian boxers can participate in international competitions again. PDO
