The Darts World Cup is entering its final round. In this year’s final, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen meet in the legendary “Ally Pally”. Who will be crowned world champion?

Michael van Gerwen has already won three world championship titles in his career. The fourth for the 35-year-old Dutchman will be added on Friday evening. “Mighty Mike” meets Luke Littler (“Ally Pally”) in the final of the Darts World Cup at Alexandra Palace in London.

It is also a duel of generations. At just 17 years old, Littler is in the final for the second time in his second tournament participation. Will the exceptional talent now make the big splash? Follow the game live on the t-online ticker.

8.30 p.m. – Around 45 minutes left and then it should start here in the “Ally Pally”. The mood, that much is certain, will be bombastic again. Over the past three weeks, the fans have made the hall tremble at every game.

8:09 p.m. – In the meantime, it is also important to know: In order to win a leg, a player must check out via a double. So if there are 40 points left, double 20 must be hit to end the leg. If only the 20 is hit, the player would have to hit the double 10 with his next arrow in order to correctly check out the remaining 20 points.

8:04 p.m. – A leg consists of 501 points, which both finalists have to play down. The maximum score a player can throw with three darts is 180 (three triple 20s). With the quality of Littler and van Gerwen it is clear that this will be hit on the board several times today.

8:02 p.m. – Today’s rules: The final is played over a maximum of 13 sets. This means that one of the two finalists must win seven sets to secure the title. Littler or van Gerwen secure a set by winning three legs.

7:53 p.m. – “Mighty Mike” already won the world title in 2014, 2017 and 2019. This means he has won the most PDC world titles after darts legend Phil Taylor (14 wins). For Littler, tonight’s triumph would be his first success in a World Cup final. He would also be the youngest world champion of all time.

7:41 p.m. – 2024 was less successful for van Gerwen, who is currently not the reigning champion of a major tournament. At this year’s World Cup he came up trumps again, impressing with a strong performance in each of his appearances. The reason: “Because I have balls of steel,” said van Gerwen after his semi-final victory over Chris Dobey.

7:32 p.m. – Littler, who turns 18 on January 21st, has had a remarkable year. After his sensational entry into the World Cup final in January 2024, “The Nuke” was able to establish himself among the top players in the world, winning three major tournaments with the Premier League Darts, the World Series of Darts Finals and the Grand Slam of Darts. Will he crown the season with the 2025 World Cup title?

7:17 p.m. – Both players fought their way into this final with strong tournament performances. Their performances in the semi-finals were particularly impressive. Littler defeated Stephen Bunting 6-1. Van Gerwen beat Chris Dobey with the same result. A demonstration of power by the two title contenders.

7:00 p.m. – Hello and welcome to the final of the Darts World Cup 2025. Luke Littler meets Michael van Gerwen at Alexandra Palace in London this evening. The two opponents are expected to take the stage around 9:15 p.m.
