The film I’m Finnish tells the story of Kari Tapio’s life.

The ups and downs of his career made Kari Tapio grab the bottle.

Matti Ristinen, known from the Syke series, will be seen in the lead role.

Today on MTV3 channel we will see the movie love’s hit star Kari Tapion of life.

I’m Finnish -film premiered in 2019 and was the second most watched film in Finland in the year of its release.

Kari Tapio, real name Kari Jalkanen (1945–2010), will be seen in the role Matti Ristinen.

Ristinen is known not only from theater stages but also from the series Pirunpelto, Syke and Kaikki sinnit.

Young Jalkas plays Tatu Sinisalo.

The film begins in a taxi, where the singing legend, who has just turned 65, begins to tell the taxi driver about his experiences.

We soon jump to the past, where 19-year-old Jalkanen sings Fairyland in stage dances on Suonenjoki in the 1960s. On break Tapio Rautavaara comes to praise the young man’s voice and offer a drink.

After the same dances, he sets his eyes on the young man Pia Viheriävaaraa, whom you end up marrying. Young Viheriävaara plays Winter Eerola and adult Tiina Lymi.

A young man dreams of a career as a record singer and starts a family with Pia. At the same time that Jalkase becomes singer Kari Tapio, booze also enters the picture.

Popularity and career do not come overnight. The singing legend’s journey includes ups and downs that make the man grab the bottle.

Pia’s wife, however, stays by his side despite the toils and meltdowns.

Even though the film features a lot of familiar songs from the hit legend, such as Sing along, I’m Finnish and after the stormit is above all a story about Catalan alcoholism.

The biopic, which premiered in 2019, was directed by Aleksi Mäkeläwho is also remembered for his films Bad boys (2003) and Checkmate (2007).

The producers in the film are Markus Selin and Jukka Helle.
