The year has started well for the ego-crazers in Hilversum. Sonja Barend, who is increasingly behaving like the conscience of the Netherlands, distances herself from a play about her life that is partly based on her book You’ll never see me again. According to Barend, the piece does not correspond to the content of her book. It always makes me laugh. Always take the measure of others, but have the capacity to take the punches of a Christmas ball when something is said that affects one’s self-image.
