Sand Nativity Scene of Lignano Sabbiadoro (Udine)

In Lignano Sabbiadoro (Udine) the Christmas atmosphere is about to light up: the appointment with Christmas at…Sea (from 7 December 2024 to 6 January 2025), the historic event which gives rise to a rich calendar of initiatives organized for the holidays (such as the Taste Village, Santa Claus’ Village, the majestic Christmas Tree with skating in Piazza Fontana, music and lots of fun). Among these, it stands out in particular the traditional Sand Nativity (7 December 2024 – 2 February 2025), now one of the most popular in Italy, which this year is dedicated to the theme “Panem nostrum cotidianum” to celebrate the Lignano area between typical cuisine, traditions, art and spirituality: the work focuses, in fact, on the work in the fields and on the saints’ holidays linked to the agricultural cycles, telling the story of the traditional dishes that preserve ancient flavors and the history of life local farmer. Coming from all over the world, the artists use exclusively beach sand and water, without resorting to glues or other additivesto create the extraordinary sculptures that will return to beach sand at the end of the exhibition, in a virtuous circle in which art blends perfectly with nature. “Homage to Walter Albini” in Prato

In November the exhibition was fully attended by the public Homage to Walter Albiniwhich can be visited in the spaces of the Fabbricone Storico, the headquarters of Balli il Lanificio in the heart of Prato. Hence the decision to extend it with extraordinary openings also during the month of December. Co-curated for Balli by the architect Filippo Boretti and born as a spin-off of the exhibition on Albini himself recently proposed by Textile Museumthe exhibition offers a delicate excursus to discover the designer’s creativity unanimously considered the father of Italian ready-to-wear. The Lanificio style office has selected 12 original designs – owned by the Museum – made by Albini to create the costumes for the protagonists of Latina play written in 1982 by Luca Ronconi but never performed on stage. The Balli Style Office has the task of tailoring five of those costumes using fabrics from the wool mill: a women’s coat, a two-piece Chanel suit, a child’s jacket, a tunic, a women’s dress accompanied by its overcoat. Strengthened by a background and a wealth of skills and knowledge gained in over seventy years of history, with this exhibition Balli il Lanificio has launched the ‘Fabbrica di Cultura’ project aimed at disseminating the knowledge, secrets and values ​​of the textile sector to an audience increasingly expanded and made up not only of sector operators. “Disenchanted! The Musical” in Sesto San Giovanni
