From the outset, the West has made it clear that it does not want to fight for Ukraine. The Ukrainians are alone against a Russian superiority, just like the East Germans in 1953, the Hungarians in 1956 and the Czechoslovaks in 1968. Unsatisfactory, but inevitable. No one in the West wants to risk a nuclear war for Ukraine.
