The Cuban Embassy in Russia has no information about the discussion of the deployment of Russian troops on the island, said “RIA News” in the diplomatic mission.

“There are no comments or information on this issue,” the embassy said.

Earlier, Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov, in an interview with RTVI, allowed the deployment of Russian troops in Cuba or Venezuela. According to him, the decision depends on “the actions of American colleagues.” Ryabkov noted that Russian President Vladimir Putin has repeatedly spoken out on this topic – in the event of provocations and increased military pressure on Russia by the United States, “measures along the lines of the Russian navy” can be implemented. But Moscow does not want such a development of the situation and hopes to resolve the issue through diplomacy, Ryabkov noted.
