Following the many years of gas extraction in Groningen and North Drenthe and the subsequent problems, the government wants to generously compensate the region. That is why started making a new start, or: a nij begun.
Over the next thirty years, there will be a lot of investments in the region to brush away sustainable backlogs, to increase opportunities in the area and to flourish liveability.
The government works for this with three different ‘agendas’: a social (to promote the quality of life), an economic (to promote prosperity) and an insulation agenda (to achieve the sustainability objectives in the region).
