The Dutch national team won a practice match against Norway 2-1 on Friday evening. The Dutch team fell behind in the Johan Cruijff ArenA, but Breda native and captain Virgil van Dijk headed the Dutch team to the same level before half time.

Andreas Schjelderup opened the score in the 24th minute by playing right wing defender Denzel Dumfries and firing the ball into the far corner: 0-1. Virgil van Dijk headed the Dutch team past in the 35th minute from a corner kick by Teun Koopmeiners.

In the early stages of the second half, the Netherlands had the necessary opportunities. One of them went in. On a pass from Dumfries, Tijjani Reijnders scored from close range to make it 2-1 in the 51st minute. Both teams made many changes in the last half hour.

Preparation for World Cup
The competition was all about the preparation for the World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Another practice match is scheduled for Tuesday. Then the Dutch National Team will play against Ecuador in the Philips Stadium in Eindhoven.

In the World Cup draw, the Dutch team was paired with Japan, Tunisia and the winner of play-off B: Ukraine, Sweden, Poland or Albania. Just before the World Cup, the Dutch team will play two more practice matches. Algeria will be the opponent in De Kuip on June 3.
