In the shopping streets of Hasselt ‘we hear noticeably more Dutch accents’, says center manager Ben Croonenborghs.

“Do not go shopping or dining abroad.” That is what Antwerp, Germany and the Netherlands themselves ask the Dutch. They remain welcome in Belgian Limburg for the time being. “The same applies to them as to everyone else: be careful,” says Governor Lantmeeters.
