Grand Designs english -In the scenes of the program, there is such a bad copyright dispute that MTV decided to eliminate its streaming service throughout the episode. Iltalehti checked that the episode could no longer be found in the MTV audience.

A dispute applies Whereby and Markku Vahtila The house episode. The couple’s old house burned down in November 2020. In the Grand Designs, the watchdogs moved a log house built in the 1790s from Keuruu to Loviisa, who had burned in Loviisa. They piled the house themselves without any experience.

A dispute over compensation

Now, the Vahtilas are telling their own version of the copyright dispute on their Facebook pages, which they have lasted for a year and a half. In their publication, the Waxes say that the dispute has been a big financial risk for them, as they have hired a lawyer.

The Vahtilat provided photos and video material to the Fremantle production company for use in the episode. According to the watchdog, they provided the production company materials under written conditions. Now they are demanding a financial compensation from the production company.

– We ask that Fremantle will finally pay us the reasonable market -priced compensation for us for the use of our material and that we will have a dispute over. At the moment, the situation is that more than two minutes of our own photo and video material was part of this program.

-Hundreds of thousands of views on a large commercial TV channel and had a number of TV reasons for more than 1.5 years and that was available for the same time on the web’s streaming service. However, we have still not received any compensation for this use.

Fremantle answers

Iltalehti reached the CEO of Fremantle Production Company Riina Kullas to comment. Kullas commented to Iltalehti by email telling me that the production company is willing to agree.

Indeed, Voima-Vähäs themselves have surrendered the material for production use, later submitting a separate claim for the use of the material. Fremantle has been actively trying to find reconciliation from the beginning, but our view of proportionate compensation has been dissented, Kullas writes in his message.

However, in order to complete the prolonged handling of the matter, Fremantle has been ready to accept the Voima watchmen’s own, considerable high compensation for the material. However, the Voima-Waspes were not ready to make a very conventional reconciliation agreement, and that is why the matter is still open.

As before, Fremantle is specifically willing to agree with the couple. This is what we have reminded them last a few days ago, Kullas decides.
