ROma, Mar 25 (askanews) – In theaters from March 27, “The crystal child”, the new film directed by Jon Gunn, with Zachary Levi (Shazam!) And Meghann Fahy (The White Lotus), inspired by the true story of Scott and Teresa Lerette, parents of little Austin, child suffering from autism and a rare disease that makes her bones very fragile.
On the occasion of the release of the film, Notorious Pictures, which distributes it, has decided to support Dynamo Camp, the third sector body that offers free recreational therapy programs for children and teenagers with serious or chronic pathologies, neurosviluppo disorders or disability conditions.
Produced by Lionsgate, which brought “Wonder” worldwide success to the screens, and Kingdom Story Company, and based on the autobiographical book “The Unbreakable Boy: A Father’s Fear, A Son’s Courage, and A Story of Unconditional Love”, the film tells the journey of a family that faces the challenges of life with love and determination. Touching themes such as disease, bullying and alcoholism, “the crystal child” invites us to reflect on how the strength of feelings, union and sharing can give a new meaning even to the most difficult challenges.
In the cast, alongside Levi and Fahy, the very young Jacob Laval, an emerging talent already appreciated in the miniseries “The conspiracy against America”, who gives the face to little Austin, and in the role of the march grandmother, the American actress and comic Patricia Heaton, known to the general public for her interpretations in the sitcom “Everybody Loves Raymond” and in the “The series” The series ” Middle “.
