Princess Leonor is preparing for her future role as ruler of Spain and commander-in-chief of the armed forces in three years of military training.

Spain’s Crown Princess Leonor, 19, went to sea today, Saturday, for almost six months. He will spend the next six months on a training ship named Juan Sebastián de Elcano.
The ship left Cádiz on the southwest coast of Spain at noon on Saturday.

The trip is part of the Princess of Asturias’ military training. Like his father, King Felipe, he serves a year in the army, navy and air force and prepares for his role as the future ruler of Spain and commander-in-chief of the armed forces.
Princess Leonor is traveling together with 74 other trainees. They travel first to the Canary Islands, then across the Atlantic to Brazil. In addition, the ship stops in the Caribbean, among other places, and the journey ends in New York. In total, the route takes you to eight countries and they will not return from the trip until July.

According to Hola, the Princess of Asturias returns home a little earlier than the rest of the crew from the trip to continue her training.
The princess’s grandfather and father made a similar trip before. King Felipe himself boarded the ship 38 years then and was now witnessing the departure of his daughter together with Queen Letizia.
Princess Leonor has been spending time in Cádiz since Wednesday, familiarizing herself with the fleet and performing various tasks before departure. He was filmed, among other things, climbing one of the masts of a sailing ship, i.e. to a height of almost 50 meters.

Before leaving the continent, the princess participated in, among other things, a mass and the departure was organized with traditional and festive ceremonies in the port. Relatives of the departed bid their loved ones an emotional farewell.
This is also how the royal couple acted, who said goodbye to their daughter feeling proud and moved. The queen gave her daughter a kiss and the parents said goodbye to Leonor with hugs and air kisses.

King Felipe represented in his uniform and Queen Letizia was dressed in a blue trouser suit. Hola according to Queen Letizia was seen wiping away tears as the ship left.
