“The Crow” remake: first photos by Bill Skarsgård

FKA twigs, who also stars in the remake, also presents herself in the look of her role for the first time.

A new edition of the 1994 classic “The Crow” is scheduled to hit theaters this year. Now the first photos of Bill Skarsgård and FKA twigs in the main roles have been published.

Via “Vanity Fair” Skarsgård can be seen in a pale look, with an undercut and lots of tattoos. FKA twigs can also be seen in the first scenes – but little of the size of her role in the film can be seen.

The Crow was first published in 1989 as a comic by James O’Barr. In the story, Eric Draven and his fiancée Shelly are murdered by a street gang after their car breaks down. Draven is brought back to life by a crow and takes revenge on the murderers. The comic was adapted into a film in 1994 by Alex Proyas starring Brandon Lee, who was tragically killed on set by a prop gun.

“Vanity Fair” also posted footage from the film via X:

The remake by director Rupert Sanders (“Ghost in the Shell”), which stars Skarsgård (“ES”) as Eric Draven/The Crow and FKA twigs as Shelly, is scheduled to be released in the USA on June 7, 2024. A release date for Germany is currently pending.

Skarsgård most recently starred in John Wick: Chapter 4 and will soon appear in Robert Eggers’ upcoming gothic horror film Nosferatu.
