Tough adventure reality The Summit Finland started yesterday sunday.
In the program hosted by Jasper Pääkkönen, there are adventures in the mountains of Norway. In the competition, 14 Finns go on a 15-day hike towards the top of Stentiden mountain.
Each of the participants carries with them their share of the 150,000 euro prize pool.
MTV’s Tomorrow Finland program in an interview with The Summit Suomi director Edward Kojonen and the series’ chief cinematographer Simo Viitanen shed light on the conditions of the program from behind the scenes. doing a program on a mountain rising to a height of 1,300 meters is not easy.
Kojonen estimates that it is one of the hardest TV productions that has been made so far. He has directed, among other things Survivors Finland and Special forces programs.
– Mountainous conditions, hard ascents, heavy loads, quite severe weather conditions as well. We traveled long distances with heavy camos, Viitanen describes.
In extreme conditions, it is also possible that dangerous situations will occur. According to Kojonen and Viitanen, the filming has an experienced security team and situations have been carefully anticipated.
– If you are physically and mentally tired, and you haven’t had a good night’s sleep for a long time, small slips happen and you stumble or spill hot water. They are more common dangerous situations, Viitanen said.
Kojonen comments that the production is responsible for the participants of the entertainment program. Everything is therefore carefully thought out in advance. According to him, no injuries have occurred during the program.
– Of course, there have been small, normal health issues on the way. You might get a cold or have an upset stomach, but nothing more.
In the first episode, the viewers of the competition reality were especially touched by one scene in which the midwife-nurse Shut up becomes unwell during the hike. Tiia’s condition worsens and in one scene she vomits profusely.
Viewers wondered why the scene was not censored.
Executive producer of the program Ellinoora Uusi-Kartano MTV commented to Iltalehti that in reality shows, events and stories are told truthfully.
– Often it means moments of joy and great successes. But sometimes also situations caused by adversity, which are difficult for the participants or where the participants are not at their best, Uusi-Kartano said by email.
According to him, it was a pleasure to see care and mutual respect in the scene.
– Everyone knows how terrible nausea and vomiting feel, and of course it’s not easy to watch someone else feel bad.
