The Cranberries: Your MTV-Unplugged album soon appears

In 1995 The Cranberries performed at the MTV-Unplugged series. Since then, however, their performance has only appeared as part of a collecting plant. On November 7th, however, the appearance will be published for the first time as an independent “unplugged” album on CD and vinyl.

Publication as a single release

The previously unpublished MTV unplugged concert by the Irish rock group was built on 14th Feburar in 1995. The cranberries’ sequence of the MTV format was repeatedly streamed after its first broadcast. “Some bands are easy to shine in an acoustic environment, and there is no better example of this than the MTV appearance of The Cranberries,” writes the magazine “Mixdown”.

The band originally appeared at the Unplugged series to advertise their album “No Need to Argue” (1994), and there were no separate audio recordings of the concert until the end. But not long: On November 7th, the Unplugged show will be released as a separate album.

Tracklist and content

So far, the 1995 concert shots were only part of the limited 3LP-30TH-Anniversary edition of “No Need to Argue” (2025). From November 7th you will be available as an independent publication. The approximately 45-minute recording appears digitally, on CD and vinyl. In addition, there will be a limited colored vinyl version with an alternative cover, which exclusively over Complex is available.

The tracklist includes songs from the albums “No Need to Argue” (1994) and “Everybody Else is doing it, so why can’t we?” (1993), including “Ode to My Family” (1994), “Linger” (1993) and “Zombie” (1994). In addition, the set “YesterDay’s Gone” contains a title that singer Dolores O’riordan and guitarist Noel Hogan wrote the day before her appearance. Also included: “Free To Decide” and “I’m Still Remembering”, both of whom were also still unpublished at the time of performance and only appeared on “To The Faithful Departed” in 1996.
